I’d like to become a “blog person“. I’d love to have the time to follow / read more blogs AND to keep mine fresh and exciting on a daily basis (or at least a couple of times a week)!
I think about blogging WAY more than I actually blog. I’m sure this is the case for a lot of people out there.
I often wonder what people would be interested in reading about…I don’t want to just simply repeat what’s on my Facebook page (eg pictures of orders and upcoming contests etc). I’d like this to be a little more about my life in general – but would people actually be interested in that? Does anyone REALLY want to know that despite being a Starbucksaholic (particularly skinny caramel macchiatos and vanilla lattes), I haven’t had ONE latte in the last week? Not only that, but there were FIVE days in a row that I didn’t even step inside a Starbucks? Yes it’s true. But how did it happen? And why? It certainly wasn’t planned.
Last Saturday (11th) I had a freebie venti skinny caramel macchiato (free with my rewards membership, yay!). And on Sunday I went on a little road trip to Washington State to do some yarn shopping and I had every intention to sit at the Starbucks in the shopping plaza there, to work on some business stuff for a couple of hours. But alas, the cafe was closed due to “lobby and restroom issues”. Instead of scouting out another location, I simply drove home.
And what about the rest of the week? Conveniently, there’s a Starbucks on campus where I work, but inconveniently, it’s in a separate building and there is no indoor or undercover walkway (UGH). Well on Monday, it was raining…and I decided I was just way too delicate to venture out in the rain! Tuesday and Wednesday I was off work, and on Tuesday I decided I was just way too comfy on the couch (making up some orders, of course!). Wednesday, I went for an AMAZING 2-hour spa treatment, and somehow ended up talking to the esthetician (Harmony – LOVE her name!) about tea. Well, I am not a tea drinker by any means. I don’t care for any sort of tea other than Nestea Zero, and Tazo Passion Tea (which is a recent discovery). Not a fan of green tea, not a fan of Chinese tea, not a fan of “sweet tea”, nope nope nope. I’ve always found tea to be rather bitter, and I’m not one to add cream/sugar. Anyhow, Harmony told me about this tea shop in the local mall. David’s Tea. She gave the shop (and tea in general) such high praise that I decided it might be worth checking out. So after my appointment I visited David’s Tea shop, and walked out with a FABULOUS tea thermos, and 5 different flavours of tea (2 herbals and 3 white – gotta start somewhere, and the ones I chose seemed like fairly berry-licious options!)
So yup, Wed night, and Thurs & Fri at work, I drank tea, tea, and more tea. And I was so pleased with myself that last night when I did actually step inside a Starbucks for the first time this week, I didn’t even feel like a latte! I didn’t want to order a tea either, because I have my “own” tea now…so I had a chocolate–strawberry vivano smoothie. (OK, it was pretty delicious too!)
If you’re reading this, and you like tea, or are beginning to like tea, let me know what kind of tea you like! I always like trying out other people’s suggestions. 🙂
